Abdullah Mojavari b. 1968, Lahidjan, Iran
Traditional painterly expression is infused in Mojavari's oeuvre with multiple facets of light and color. He explores the dynamics of space between representation and abstraction. In search of dazzling impulses of the current moment his artworks unravel a touch of magic transforming abstract elements into figurative compositions. Conceiving equilibrium while examining the light as form and function. No depicted source of light is visible in his paintings as elements of light are vividly glowing through human creatures developing a floating yet illusive illustration.
He initiates a conversation of tones and textures creating an illusion of perspective while realistic forms underlie numerous of his paintings. Shifting the focus of the art experience from passive to active while facilitating a change of perception in search for novelties within the branch of existing painting methods.
Mojavari’s works have been exhibited at multiple international art galleries and museums to include the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. His paintings were on display at the 7th Berlin Biennale, Shanghai Art Fair and 2nd Biennale in Teheran at the Teheran Museum of Contemporary Art, Iran. Mojavari’s works are held in private collections worldwide.
